2. Western Australia

Western Australia, covering the entire western third of the country, is made up mostly of the arid Outback.  As a tourist, you’ll come across just about every type of photogenic landscape.  In the southwest end, you’ll come across equally expansive wildflowers, impressive beaches, and lush green forests brimming with life.  It is an ideal place for surfing and water sports lovers.  The famous places to visit in Western Australia are Perth, Exmouth, Albany, Monkey mia, etc.

Cairns considered the gateway to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, is a city in tropical Far North Queensland. If you want to take advantage of the dry season and absence of marine stingers, the best time to visit Cairns is between June and October.  

However, if your priorities are cheap flights, fewer crowds, and tour deals, you can also take a chance on traveling in April/May or September/October.

10. Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is a metropolitan region south of Brisbane on Australia’s east coast. Its long sandy beaches, surfing spots and elaborate system of inland canals and waterways are well famous across the world.  It’s also home to theme parks such as Dreamworld, Sea World, and Wet’n’Wild. Inland, hiking trails crisscross Lamington National Park’s mountain ridges and valleys, home to rare birds and rainforest.  It has several wildlife sanctuaries and national parks where one can visit the exotic wildlife of Australia.
