About:

Express entry program is a trajectory towards the PR (Permanent Residence) for skilled workers in Canada. Basically, it is the online system which is totally based on the point system. The higher your points, the greater your chance of receiving ITA to become PR in Canada.

In this blog, I will be sharing the detailed information about the express entry program in the Canada which may include the requirements, steps to apply, the benefits, etc.

What are the facts that need to be in mind while exploring the Express entry program?

  • This is the program which applies only to Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Traders Program, and Canadian Experience Class Immigration Program.
  • Your profile will be assessed that based on the points you’ve got.
  • Highest point holders will be provided with an ITA.
  • You must submit an Expression of Interest and apply as an applicant under any type of job mentioned in Skill Types 0, A and B.

What is the eligibility for Express Entry Program?

The main goal of federal government is to analyze such applicants who have the highest chance of succeeding after they migrate to Canada and the one who meets the eligibility requirements according to their point scale. The federal government accelerates the entry of this program in such a way that their economic, social, and cultural contribution to Canada will brush up. Candidates who qualify for the following programs are eligible to submit an application under the Express Entry program:

  • Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
  • Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

The others that will boost up your CRS score can be:

  • Language skills (either in English or French)
  • Work experience in Canada
  • Education experience  
  • Bilingualism in French and English
  • Blood relation Canada
  •  A Master’s degree or Ph.D. education, etc.

           How much does it cost for Express Entry program?

  1. Language tests:– $300 (average)
  2. ECA:– $200 (average)
  3. Bio-metrics:– $85/head(average)
  4. Government fees:- $1,325/adult & $225/child
  5. Medical examination fees:– $450/adult & $250/child (average)
  6. PCC:– $100/country (average)

What are the Steps to apply Express Entry Program?

Step 1: Create your Express Entry profile:

First thing first, you will have to create an online Express Entry profile on the website of CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada). The scores will be provided on basis of your age, work experience, education, language skills, etc.

Step 2: Complete your ECA (if applicable)

If an individual have done his/her education outside Canada, then they must get their Educational Credentials Assessment or ECA which will proves that your educational qualifications are equal to those recognized in the Canadian educational system.

 Step 3: Take a Language Test

To complete this step, first you need to know there are sorts of tests to prove your language ability. The higher the scores in language proficiency test, greater the CLB. The Language test equivalency charts are given below for language.

Step 4: Calculate your CRS score

After all the above mentioned steps, calculate your CRS scores (Comprehensive Ranking System score.) that includes the criteria such as age, work experience, adaptability and others. Your profile will definitely include in the Express Entry pool if you have the required CRS score.

Step5: Get your ITA (Invitation To Apply):

If your profile gets opted by the concerned authorities then you will receive an ITA Invitation To Apply after which you can start the process of your PR.

Step 6: Prepare your documents:

It’s the step to collect the necessary documents for the further steps that make you closer towards the path of being PR in Canada. The essential may include:

  • ECA
  • Academic grades
  • Passport
  • Passport size photographs
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Work experience
  • Medical certificate
  • PCC (Police clearance Certificate)
  • Funds
  • GOVERNMENT PROCESSING FEES:
  • Principal Applicant: $1325
  • Spouse: $1325
  • Dependent children: $225/child
  • Proof of relatives in Canada
  • Offer of employment
  • Birth certificates
  • Marital status
  • Language test scores,etc

Step 7: Express Entry Fees

The cost of Express Entry Fees is totally depend upon the size of a particular family who are going to apply so. This may be 12,000-14,000 CAD.

  • Principal Applicant: $1325
  • Spouse: $1325
  • Dependent children: $225/child
  • Biometrics: $85/person
  • Medical examination fees:– $450/adult & $250/child (average)
  • PCC :– $100/country (average)

After all the above-mentioned steps, submit your application either by courier or mail.

Step 8: COPR

If your application is complete they will send you a confirmation letter to begin the process. Hopefully, you will got COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) from the concerned authorities. Your COPR will have information about who you are, as well as your photograph.

Kindly make sure your information is correct. It should be the same as the information on your passport.

Fortunately, after receiving COPR you will be invited for the citizenship ceremony. This is final step to become a Canadian citizen. Citizenship ceremonies take place across the country and at all times of the year.
