Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology

Located in the beautiful city of London, Ontario, Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology commonly called as Fanshawe College is a public college that was established in the year 1967. In the year 1962, the Ontario Vocational Centre(OVC) was founded in the city and help it’s first classes on September 28,1964. After three years i.e. in 1967, it became Fanshawe College. The college then established campuses in Woodstock, St. Thomas and Simcoe.

The London campus initially consisted of three buildings but has witnessed various extensions over time.

Currently,in the year 2018, Fanshawe  established  its  fifth school, the School of Digital and Performing Arts offering creative programs previously offered by the School of Contemporary Media and School of Design. As of today, Fanshawe College offers more than 200 programs. About 43,000 students graduate from Fanshawe annually. The college has 15 academic schools that provide education in specific areas such as

It’s not only about academic’s, the college also gives utmost important to physical activities and games. Athletics have always been one of the preferences of the college. The college joined the Ontario College Athletic Association (OCAA) in 1967 as one of the six founding members. The college currently competes in 14 various sports with 19 teams including.

• Baseball
• Softball
• Mixed curling

Both men and women compete in these games. In 2019, Fanshawe athletics set a new Fanshawe record for most medals in a season. Also, Fanshawe college has one of the largest campus recreation programs in Ontario with over 4500 students participating in intramurals, extramurals and open recreation every year. Coming to the student association, The Fanshawe Student Union(FSU) is a student representative body designed to meet the various needs and expectations of students attending Fanshawe College.

The FSU has had a student newspaper since it’s beginning known as the Fanfare. This name later changed to The Dam in 1971. Now, it’s been called as The Interrobang and is the college’s only newspaper. It is published every week and is distributed throughout the campus free of charge. Fanshawe college is the best mix of Academics and Co-curricular activities that aim of overall development of students. Fanshawe is and always be one of the preferred colleges of Indian students to study in Ontario.
