Big changes to be made by Canadian immigration in 2022…

In the letter, he stated some updates that will be made by the Canadian immigration in the year 2022.The very first thing he mentioned was the Immigration target for the year 2022.The immigration target for this year has been increased to 4,11,000. This number indicates that this year, a lot of immigrants will be given permanent residency. One thing to be noticed is that this number includes immigrants from PNP draws, Express Entry programs and other immigration programs.
The second point he stated was Focus on international students.We all know how much Indian students and students from all over the world love Canadian education system. Keeping that in mind, Mr Prime Minister mentioned that there should be enough focus on the international students by IRCC. International students should be given utmost priority and their pending applications should be cleared as early as possible. This indicates that this year, a lot of eligible international students will be granted the permanent residency.
The third point he considered was on Improved processing times. He mentioned it to the IRCC that it should work upon the application processing time. The impact of the letter can be observed as the application processing time seems to reduce. Moreover, the number of visas that are being received every single day have also increased which is a good news for those whose applications are pending.
Moving further, the next point mentioned in the mandate letter was the Focus on family reunification. Due to COVID, many individuals who had applied for spouse visa have been stuck in their home country. The letter mentions that IRCC should clear the visas as early as possible so that families can reunite.
Another point that was emphasised upon is that IRCC should come up with new immigration programs. New immigration programs will lead to immigrants with different categories and skills to enter the country. Also, it will ensure that the talented one’s get their chance and the target of 4,11,000 immigrants is achieved easily.
One more important change that is expected to happen in the fall of 2022 is in NOC code. It is expected that NOC will be removed and ‘tiers’ will be announced. Currently there are 5 NOC codes and they are said to be replaced by 6 tiers which as NOC codes will specify the professions.
