Saskatchewan declares new immigration program…

Let it be any province of Canada, Indians have always been attracted towards Canada because of the country’s endless opportunities. Canada has everything that one can ask for. The country gives equal importance to international immigrants that land in Canada to pursue their dreams.
Each and every province gives utmost importance to their key sectors so that they become self sufficient. Recently, the province of Saskatchewan announced a new immigration program called the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot Program. For all those who don’t know, Saskatchewan is a province in Canada that borders the United States to the south. This province is covered by grasslands in south and by the Canadian Shield plateau, forests, rivers and lakes in the north.

The Hard-to-Fill Skills program is announced to allow the local employers to recruit international talent for certain in demand occupations. The eligible jobs under this program will include entry-level positions that may require on-the-job training.

The sectors in which there is a huge labour demand are:-

  • Manufacturing
  • Agriculture
  • Ag-tech
  • Construction
  • Hospitality
  • Retail

During the announcement of this program, the immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison said the demand of labour in the province is very strong and it will be increasing with the number of economic projects announced in the province.
He also stated that this Hard-to- Fill Skills program is a progress on their autonomy discussions with the federal government . Moreover, it will help provide employers with great access to international options to recruit workers.

This program is scheduled to be in action in December 2021. The workers nominated through the Saskatchewan          Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) stream will be supported by their employers and community.

This program aims to develop the existing key sectors and increase the overall output in every sector. The candidates willing to apply for this program need to fulfil some conditions in order to be eligible for this program.

  • They must have a full-time, permanent offer of employment and SINP job approval letter from a registered Saskatchewan employer.
  • They must meet a minimum Canadian official language proficiency level..
  • They must meet the minimum educational and work  experience requirements.

Also, for the employers to be eligible, they have to demonstrate that they have made extensive efforts to hire domestically before they can use the pilot recruitment They are also supposed to demonstrate the need and benefit of the workers to their business.. The province is all set to welcome more immigrants with open arms who will work with full dedication to develop every key sector of the province…
