The University of Alberta Student’s Union is for all undergraduate students and the Graduate Students Association for all the graduate ones. In addition to these, a number of university’s academic programs are managed by their own student representative body.

Students within the residencesare represented by a number of associations primarily the University of Alberta Residence Halls Association.
As of the year 2014, there are more than 450 student organisations and clubs covering a wide range of interests such as

The Athletics program at the university is managed by the Athletics Department. The university’s male team is known as the University of Alberta Golden Bears while the female team is known as University of Alberta Pandas. The university’s athletics department manages more than 500 students in over 24 teams.
